Match game video slot machine came out this summer in Las Vegas and has recently appeared in the Atlantic City casinos. It is a cartoonish styled version of the hit game shows of the 1970s. With the game show network reviving many of these older programs, we can now also find our television counterparts on the casino floor. The lives of many celebrities live on in the slot games as the recorded voice accompany the bonus rounds and us through the base games. The Match game is a basic 15 line 5 coin per line 75 credit max bet or 20 line game that can be found in multi-denominations. I prefer the nickel game and it seems to have a slightly better overall payoff. I have not had too much experience or time playing the game. The usual characters are here, familiar faces from the TV shows. Sorry but no tipsy interactions during the slot game, they should have a feature that the longer you play the more wasted the celebrities’ get like when they taped the real shows. The ones taped after lunch and the cocktails were always much more entertaining.
When three Super Match Bonus symbols appear on an active payline on reels 3, 4, and 5, the Super Match Bonus begins! Players will be prompted to choose one of six celebrities to play this bonus round. Once players have chosen their celebrity, they will have the opportunity to select one of three words on a pop-up window to complete a phrase read by the host of MATCH GAME, Gene Rayburn, on the top LCD screen. Gene will then reveal where that word ends up on the Super match Board on the top LCD screen. Depending on where the word appears on the hierarchical list on the top screen, a credit amount is awarded to the player. The celebrity will then reveal their answer, and if it matches the player’s answer the celebrity will reveal a multiplier to be multiplied by the player’s award! If the player and the celebrity do not match answers, however, only the credit amount is awarded.
When three or more MATCH GAME symbols land on an active payline the player will enter the MATCH GAME bonus round. Six celebrities appear on the top LCD screen, arranged as on the MATCH GAME television show. On the lower screen Gene Rayburn will ask a question, and there is an area in which the question will be displayed. The player is given three possible answers to the question, and is prompted to choose one. After the player chooses an answer each celebrity holds up one of two cards: one that matches their answer or one that does not. The player is awarded a small credit amount for choosing an incorrect answer and a large credit amount for choosing a correct one. If at the end of the bonus round the player has matched four or more celebrities, they are given another round with higher overall credit amounts.
